During the spooky Halloween season, I aimed to create a gripping short film for my social audience. The inspiration struck when I stumbled upon a captivating dialogue from an old Malayalam movie. Pairing it with an eerie musical composition by a talented artist formed the bedrock of my vision.
With the core elements in place, I embarked on a journey to visualize the film's aesthetic. Mood boards and extensive planning became my canvas to sketch out the atmospheric essence I envisioned.
From scouting hauntingly perfect locations to meticulously curating costumes and props, every detail was a brushstroke in painting the envisioned narrative. Directing, shooting, and crafting the film's mood were hands-on experiences.
Upon completion, the film made its debut in the digital sphere. Its allure captured attention, amassing an impressive 500k views on Instagram.
Process
Evoking Soundscape
The heartbeat of the film lay in the dialogue borrowed from the old Malayalam classic, complemented by a haunting musical backdrop that intensified the film's emotions.
Story Board:
Storyboarding served as the visual roadmap translating my creative vision into a tangible sequence, guiding each crucial moment and framing shots while planning camera movements. These sketches became the cornerstone, offering direction and coherence, ensuring a seamless flow within the overarching narrative. From conception to execution, storyboarding enriched the storytelling process, breathing life into each scene and providing the essential visual backbone that brought my cinematic vision to fruition.

Marekting materials

Visual Effects
In crafting the visual effects for this film, I employed a unique approach using Photoshop's generative fill, adding distinct elements to certain scenes. Additionally, more intricate VFX techniques like masking, rotoscoping, and animations were skillfully executed by a talented artist within my team. This collaborative effort ensured a diverse range of effects, blending innovative digital tools with expert artistry to enhance the film's visual storytelling.
Color Grading
Added some special effects to make certain parts of the film more interesting. Got help from an artist who knows their way around digital magic.
